34th Annual Day Of Recognition Celebrates NU’s College Of Arts & Sciences

The 34th Day of Recognition was held by Niagara University’s College of Arts and Sciences on Friday, April 25, 2014.

Hundreds of Niagara University students were honored for their achievements as undergraduates during the event, which was also the first that the Rev. James J. Maher, C.M., will preside over. Father Maher was named president of NU in August 2013.

The 2014 adaptation was also the first as dean for Dr. Tim Ireland, who was appointed to the position on June 1 after 17 years as a Niagara faculty member.

Along with the bestowment of numerous awards for academic excellence, the 2014 Day of Recognition featured remarks from Father Maher and Dr. Ireland, as well as comments from Dr. Tim Downs, provost; Dr. Kalen Churcher, assistant professor of communications studies and the 2013 recipient of the Excellence in Teaching Award; and Claire Elling, a senior majoring in psychology.
