Student Health Services passes NYSDOH

In Announcements, by , on March 30th, 2015

Congratulations to the Office of Student Health Services for successfully passing their recent New York State Department of Health (NYSDOH) Immunization Bureau audit with no noted deficiencies.

NYSDH randomly audits colleges and universities to ensure compliancy with NYS Public Health Laws 2165 and 2167. These regulations require all new incoming and transfer students taking 6 or more credit hours and born after Jan. 1, 1957, to provide proof of their measles, mumps, and rubella vaccines. Additionally, students must be provided information regarding the meningitis vaccine and provide proof of vaccination or request a waiver. Provisions are also made for students who qualify for a medical or religious waiver. Compliancy regulations mandate that students who have not complied with the above regulations within the first 30 days of school  be excluded from classes, residence halls and not permitted on campus. Violations may result in the imposition of civil penalty of up to $2,00 per student who is permitted to attend school in violation of these requirements.
