The Brennan Center welcomes international guests to campus this summer

The university community is encouraged to welcome our international guests and participate in activities with the following groups:
The English Summer Camp, an eight-week learning session, starts today with a second session beginning July 11. The camp is designed for nonnative learners of English and provides formal language instruction, as well as opportunities for social interaction, providing participants with practical learning experiences.
Professors from Hunan University of Science and Engineering will arrive tonight to begin a two-month research program with a specific focus on analysis and application of large data, intelligent optimization algorithm and its application, application of social network services, and data mining and its application. Individual meetings with the group are encouraged; any contacts or partnership recommendations are appreciated.
The Hospitality Tourism and Training Institute (HTTI), the university’s refugee training program, will continues this summer with students from Somalia, the Sudan, Bhutan, the Republic of the Congo and DR Congo. The program is taught in Buffalo, but the cohort will visit the NU campus Thursday, June 16.
The Vietnamese English Teachers group will be participating in the Brennan Center’s English Summer Camp. The group will be on campus June 24-July 6, and their work will include classroom observation, sharing best practices and participation in social activities.
