Lewiston-Porter High School is looking for host families for 1 male and 1 female student for the 2016-2017 school year
Lewiston Porter is in the home stretch of finding homes for their incoming exchange students. Host families are needed for 1 male and 1 female student for the 2016-2017 academic year. Hosting an international student is a rewarding experience for both the international student and the host family and a great opportunity to help globalize our community.
What does a host family do?
- Host families are responsible for providing breakfast and dinner daily, as well as transportation to and from school events, where a bus is not present. For families that live within the Lew-Port district, bussing is provided to and from school daily, but some days the student may have SAT classes and other commitments that will require a ride.
- Host families help acclimate the international student to daily life in the US, they help guide the student through their senior year and help them with their college admission process, in conjunction with the resources at Lewiston-Porter.
- Students arrive in late August and depart in late June.
- Host families are paid a $6,250 stipend per student and are allowed to host 2 students.
