Dr. Lillian S. Williams Presents ” African American Women in the Age of Suffrage”
Niagara University’s women’s studies program, the Niagara Falls National Heritage Area, the Niagara Falls Underground Railroad Heritage Center, and the Niagara University student public relations group, PRSSN, are pleased to announce an upcoming lecture by Dr. Lillian S. Williams. Dr. Williams will speak on “African American Women in the Age of Suffrage” on March 15, 2018, from 5:30-7:00 p.m. at the Niagara Falls Underground Railroad Heritage Center, located at 825 Depot Avenue West in Niagara Falls, New York.
Williams in an associate professor in the Department of Transnational Studies at the University at Buffalo. Ally Spongr, director and curator the NFURHC says that, “The Niagara Falls National Heritage Area and Niagara Falls Underground Heritage Center is pleased to host Dr. Lillian S. Williams in the heart of the Niagara Falls community. We recognize and support the importance of African American women to emancipation efforts, the women’s suffrage movement, civil rights and creating change throughout history and today, right here in our local communities. With enthusiasm, we welcome Dr. Williams and our neighbors to join us for this momentous event.”
