Tomorrow is Giving Wednesday: Here’s What’s Happening

In Announcements, by , on April 20th, 2021

“Spring into Service” continues with Giving Wednesday! Activities of the day focus on giving back to our community, including:

Campus Ministry Blanket Making: This service opportunity encourages our students to make blankets that will be sent to children at Oishei Children’s Hospital. Supplies will be distributed outside of the Gallagher Center between 12 – 2 PM, or from the Campus Ministry office from 2-4 PM. Supplies are limited and will be distributed on a first come, first served basis. Please return completed blankets and supplies back to Campus Ministry by Monday, April 26, 2021.

Hygiene Bags: Help to package hygiene bags that will be distributed to local organizations who serve those most in need in our community. A table will be located outside of the Gallagher Center from 12 – 2 PM, while supplies last.

Birthday Card Making: Take time to make Birthday Cards for the clients of Meals on Wheels and Feedmore WNY. A table will be located outside of the Gallagher Center from 12 – 2 PM, while supplies last.

T-Shirt Bags for Community Missions: With the plastic bag ban, organizations like Community Missions are looking for creative ways to distribute food to their patrons. This is where T-shirt bags come in! T-shirts will be located in the Multipurpose Room in the Gallagher Center from 6 – 8 PM. Any students who choose take-and-make should return completed T-shirts to IMPACT in ACAD 125 on Monday, April 26, 2021. Sign Up Here.

Don’t forget – if you are participating in an act of service during National Volunteer Week share your service using #NUSpringIntoService on social media or visiting http://levesqueinstitute.niagara.edu/impact/service-week-2021/ to report what you did. More information about the week’s events can also be found on the website.

Activities of the week are made possible through a partnership between IMPACT, the Levesque Institute, Campus Ministry, NUSGA, the Brennan Center, and Active Minds. A special thank you to Campus Activities for incorporating service opportunities into RidgeFest events!
