UBB Info Sessions: today and July 30
As you are aware, earlier this year Father Maher appointed a University Budget Board to take a closer look at the university’s budgeting process, with a focus on the development of a transparent and participatory budget component of the annual planning and assessment process.
The board meets regularly and has defined more than 600 functional programs in both academic and non-academic areas. Functional programs are defined as any program that consumes resources, monetary and non-monetary, and these are narrower in scope than the departments commonly used for budgeting purposes.
The next step in this process will be to gather input from the campus community to better evaluate each of these defined programs, so that we can strategically allocate resources to advance the university.
As part of this process there will be two information sessions to provide information on the process and communicate the next steps.
You are invited to attend one of the following sessions:
- Wednesday, July 15, 2015; 12:30 – 1:30 p.m. – Heritage Room
- Bring your lunch – cookies and refreshments will be offered
- Thursday, July 30, 2015; 10 – 11 a.m. – Gallagher Center, multi-purpose room
- Cookies and refreshments will be offered
There is a section on MyNU – UBB – found under “Featured Links” with more information regarding this important initiative.
