NU Adds Articulation Agreement With Humber College On Master’s In TESOL
Niagara University has entered into a new articulation agreement with the Humber College Institute of Technology & Advanced Learning in Toronto that will permit students from Humber to transfer credits to NU’sM.S.Ed. program in Teachers of English to Speakers of Other Languages, or TESOL.
The agreement stipulates that students can have up to 15 credits from Humber’s post-baccalaureate program in TESL accepted toward completion of Niagara’s 37-credit M.S.Ed. degree in TESOL.
“Given the ever-increasing need for well-prepared graduates to work with individuals who are learning English as a new language, this partnership provides a critical degree-completion opportunity for students in Ontario,” stated Dr. Debra Colley, dean of NU’s College of Education. “This articulation also extends the range of partnerships that Niagara University has in the province and supports the profession of ESL through the advancement of careers in this discipline.”
Students who have graduated from Humber College with a post-baccalaureate TESL diploma while maintaining an overall GPA of at least 75 (or a B average) will be eligible to apply for admission into this articulation program.
(Admission to Humber’s TEFL program requires the completion of a baccalaureate degree as well as approved college scores on TOEFL or IELS language proficiency tests.)
