Niagara University will host Changing Our Minds: A Mental Health Summit

On Saturday, Sept. 19, Niagara University will host Changing Our Minds: A Mental Health Summit, the conference  will be from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. at the Castellani Art Museum. Fr. Maher will open the session and support the role of higher education in addressing the most central issues of mental health. Among the presenters will be Eric Weaver, who will offer the keynote address on overcoming mental illness and stigma, and Dr. Tim Osberg, who will present on recognizing the signs and symptoms of mental illness and how to support someone into the helping system. 

Participation by members of the NU community will be free of charge ($15 for members of the community). Space is limited to 200 participants, so don’t delay in registering. 

Based in part on feedback from Niagara University faculty, Niagara University is collaborating with the Mental Health Association in Niagara County and Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center to present this conference aimed at eroding stigma, promoting mental health literacy and teaching the basics of mental health first aid.
