A Message from Facility Services – LED Lighting Conversion
Facility Services has begun a project to systematically convert the entire campus from fluorescent lighting to LED lighting. This is a logical and responsible step to lower our carbon footprint; be more environmentally responsible by removing mercury containing lighting devices; and reduce energy consumption by more than 50% while providing an increased light output per fixture and longer bulb life expectancy.
We are starting the conversion with the O’Shea, Seton, and the Library Buildings. During the conversion process, we expect minimal to no inconveniences to students and staff with an estimated time of conversion of 15 to 20 minutes per fixture. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation as we undertake this necessary project.
