Accounting Professor Ian Burt Earns Two Prestigious Awards

It’s been a heckuva spring semester for Ian Burt.

The Niagara University accounting instructor learned in March that a dissertation he authored earned the 2014 Michael J. Barrett Doctoral Dissertation Award from The Institute of Internal Auditors Research Foundation. That distinction comes with an award of $10,000.

This month, Burt found out that he is also the 2014 recipient of the Keith Boocock Doctoral Scholarship. Presented by the Canadian Public Accountability Board in memory of its former CEO, the $10,000 scholarship is granted to a Ph.D. student who is working on his/her dissertation at a Canadian university.
