Alumni Hall entranceway, and Alumni Chapel to closed beginning May 24

Beginning Monday, May 24, 2021, work will begin on Alumni Hall to replace the main stairway and doors to the building.

Due to the magnitude of work, the entire area between St. Vincent’s Hall and Alumni Hall, including the parking area, will be closed to pedestrian and vehicular traffic. Access to Alumni Hall will be through the ROTC (elevator) entrance or the fire exit stairs on the east side of the building. On occasion, however, construction activity may preclude use of the elevator entrance.

Replacement of the stairs also necessitates the closing of the Alumni Chapel in order to comply with fire codes and exit regulations. Therefore, beginning May 30, the Sunday 11 a.m. Mass will be held in the Multi-Purpose Room (MPR) in the lower level of the Gallagher Center. In addition to the entranceway work, renovations will also take place in the Alumni Chapel, including replacement of the chapel ceiling fans and repairs to the interior stairs.

The project will be completed and the front entrance opened by the first week in September.  However, a second chapel shutdown will occur in January 2022 for painting and floor refinishing.
