Bhaskar Sunkara, journalist and founder of Jacobin Magazine, speaks at NU on Thursday, October 5th

Bhaskar Sunkara is an American political writer, editor and publisher of Jacobin magazine. He is a global thought leader on 21st century social justice and democratic socialism.

Started in his dorm room while a student at George Washington in 2010 at the age of 21, Jacobin is a leading progressive publication that currently reaches a web audience of over 1,000,000 a month, with over 30,000 print subscribers.

Sunkara writes for The New York Times, Vice magazine, Washington Post and The Nation, among other outlets. He has appeared on the PBS Tavis Smiley program, MSNBC’s Up w/ Chris Hayes and the FX show Totally Biased with W. Kamau Bell.

The event will take place from 6:00-7:30 in Dunleavy Hall, Room 127.
