Bo Pikas Elected To Buffalo Institute Of Medical Research Board

Bo Pikas, professor of marketing, has been elected to serve a three-year term as a board member of the Buffalo Institute of Medical Research.

The seven-member board reviews and approves the conduct of medical research at the VA Western New York Healthcare System.

Pikas, who has taught at NU since 1968, holds a B.S. from the University of New Haven, an MBA from the University at Buffalo, and an M.S. from Niagara University. He also earned a certificate in international marketing from the United States Chamber of Commerce.

The Buffalo Institute for Medical Research Inc., (BIMR) is a not-for-profit research corporation that was established to facilitate the conduct of approved medical research at VA Western New York Healthcare System (VA WNYHS) in response to legislation enacted by Congress. This legislation authorizes the formation of not-for-profit research corporations at Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Centers. BIMR is affiliated with, but legally distinct from the VA WNYHS.
