BUILDING ELECTRICAL POWER SHUTDOWNS

In Announcements, by , on March 4th, 2020

During spring break (March 16 – March 20, 2020) Facility Services will begin testing the University’s primary electrical distribution system which will result in the interruption of electrical service for a period of time in each impacted building. This work is necessary to minimize a reoccurrence of the electrical power failure which occurred during December 2018.  Each sectional switch will be tested to assess its current condition. Please make arrangements to work in other building locations throughout campus while this testing work is going on in your building.

Additional sectional switch testing and associated electrical power shut downs will occur during Easter break (April 9 – April 13, 2020) and after the end of the spring semester (5/18-5/22/2020). Facility Services will provide additional notifications at that time.
