Genevieve Febbraro, a student in Niagara University’s bachelor of professional studies program in education, is the 2018 recipient of the Ontario Modern Language Teachers’ Association’s Helen G. Mitchell Award.

The award is granted to one graduating student in each Faculty of Education who has achieved excellence in both the academic and practicum programs in the pre-service year, and demonstrated the attributes of a potentially outstanding French as a second language (FSL) or international languages teacher.

“Genevieve has such a passion for teaching and this prestigious award reflects the hard work that she puts into honing her craft every single day,” said Dr. Chandra Foote, dean of the NU’s College of Education. “She is committed to developing lesson plans that engage the diverse, 21st century learner; I am certain she will make a significant impact on her students.”
