CASTL brings another technology workshop to enhance your classroom
On Wednesday, Nov. 4, at 11 a.m., Dr. Stephen Petersen will present the “randomizer” software he wrote to encourage evenly-distributed class interaction with students. Sometimes he uses it as a spot quiz, to check an unlucky few for the reading questions they are all supposed to bring to class. More commonly, though, it is simply a way to call on a random student to help think about the issue at hand, and he gives credit for any attempt to engage. Students tend on average to write positive comments about this system; they seem grateful, in retrospect at least, to have been forced to interact with the class on a regular basis.
