Events for Thursday, April 23:

Witmer Road Entrance Celebration

10:30 a.m. – Witmer Road

Show support for our newly constructed university entrance as local members of the media along with representatives from NU and the New York Power Authority officially recognize this mutual effort. The purple NU bus will be leaving from Castellani beginning at 10 a.m. to take you there and bring you back. 

PARKING LOT PARTY

11:30 a.m. – 2 p.m. – Gallagher Center

Celebrate NU with activities like a PORTABLE ROCK WALL, CUSTOM PURPLE STREET SIGNS, free lunch buffet, Balloon Artist, and get your community service by participating in the Sandal Falls project. 

WALK A MILE IN HER SHOES CHARITY WALK

4:30 p.m. – Gallagher Center

Each year, an ever-increasing number of men, women and their families are joining the award-winning Walk a Mile in Her Shoes®: The International March to Stop Rape, Sexual Assault & Gender Violence. A Walk a Mile in Her Shoes® Event is a playful opportunity for men to raise awareness about the topic of sexualized violence against women. Cost will be $1 to participate and is open to all students, men and women. Meet in the Gallagher Center. Community service hours available for this event so come out and support. 

THE NEST

6:30 – 10:30 p.m. – Dwyer Arena Premium Suite

The popularity of The Nest has really “flown!”  Get over to Dwyer to enjoy $0.25 chicken wings and other Dwyer fried food delights like Pizza logs, French fries, burgers, and more.  Only cash will be accepted, so bring a few bills.  Also a cash bar will be available for those 21+.  Only NU students, please bring NU ID.  See you at The Nest. 

COMEDY NIGHT FEATURING EMMA WILMANN

8 p.m. – Dunleavy 127

In 2014, Emma Willmann was featured on the Cover of TimeOutNY, as one of the top ten funniest females in New York City, beat out hundreds of comics to be a top ten finalist in New York’s Funniest at Caroline’s on Broadway, headlined her own sold-out show in The New York Comedy Festival at Stand Up New York, started to tour the college market nationally, appeared on the TV shows “Deadly Affairs,” “My Crazy Love,” and “True Crime,” and made her national stand up comedy television debut on AxisTV’s Live at Gotham hosted with Louie Anderson.  Extremely unique, you don’t want to miss this one of a kind act.   Sponsored by the Campus Programming Board.  Doors open at 7:30 p.m.
