CFA Institute Research Challenge Comes to Niagara University
On Monday, Feb. 18, student teams from 10 universities across upstate New York will gather at Niagara University to compete in the ninth annual CFA Institute Research Challenge. The local contest is part of an annual global student competition that involves more than 5,000 students from over 1,000 universities in 85 countries.
The teams will analyze Astronics Corp., an aerospace manufacturer with headquarters in East Aurora, N.Y. Astronics had sales of approximately $800 million in 2018, and has major market segments in avionics, aircraft lighting and safety, and electrical power. The teams will compete in two brackets that morning, with the two winning teams competing head to head that afternoon to determine which one will advance to the Americas Regional Final in New York City. The afternoon competition, which will take place at 3 p.m. in St. Vincent’s Hall Room 407, is open to the Niagara University community.
The winner of the competition will be announced at a reception at 4 p.m. in the Niagara University Dining Commons.
The universities competing at Niagara include Canisius College, Cornell University, SUNY Buffalo, SUNY Geneseo, Niagara University, SUNY Oswego, Syracuse University, and the University of Rochester.
