In Announcements, by , on July 29th, 2019

Technology can be frustrating for people of any age, but especially for senior citizens who did not grow up with technology at their fingertips.   The Council for Older Adults and the Retired Seniors Volunteer Corp of Niagara County, and the Communication Studies department of Niagara University are presenting a free Movie Day on Thursday, August 1st at 1:00PM on the campus of Niagara University as an opportunity for Niagara County seniors to learn how technology can enrich their lives.  The event will screen “CYBER-SENIORS” a funny and heartwarming documentary that focuses on a group of senior citizens who take their first steps into cyber-space under the tutelage of teenage mentors.  The film expertly renders a thought-provoking look at a spirited group of men and women who are enriched by digitally re-connecting with their families and each other.

Technology experts (teenagers) will be on-hand to answer technology questions.  Seniors are invited to bring their phones, laptops, tablets and technology questions.

The event takes place in Room 127 Dunleavy Hall and is in partnership with the Communication Studies Department.   The event is free, but registration is required.  Call the COA at (716) 285-8224, ext. 215 for registration and more information.
