Congratulations to Dr. Walter Polka, professor of professional programs, and Monica VanHusen, technology coordinator at Colonial Forge High School (Stafford, Va.) and a Niagara University alumna (M.S. in education, 2005) on the recent publication of their book chapter.

Their chapter is titled “Applying Teacher Reflection Strategies to Promote Greater Differentiation of Instruction: A Practical Research Model and Procedural Guide.”

The chapter is based on their research studies with a sample of 582 teachers in Georgia, New York, Virginia, and Texas. It provides a  practical process to assist teachers in individualizing their instruction to meet the needs and interests of their students more frequently and effectively based on constructivist principles and reflective approaches.

The chapter is in the book Reflectivity and Cultivating Student Learning: Critical Elements for Enhancing a Global Community of Learners and Educators, edited by Edward Pultorak of Southern Illinois University and published by Rowman and Littlefield Publishers and the Association of Teacher Educators (ATE).
