Congressman Higgins & ReNU Niagara Announce LiveNF Volunteer Fair
Congressman Brian Higgins and Niagara University’s ReNU Niagara program announced the 2015 LiveNF Volunteer Fair, an event to connect local residents interested in civic engagement with volunteer-driven organizations doing good work in the Niagara Falls community.
“Great things can happen when individuals take their own unique talents and community pride and invest them in something positive,” said Congressman Higgins. “We are seeing the momentum build in Niagara Falls and can grow that even further when people engage through community service in our neighborhoods.”
“Service to one’s community is a critical component of the Vincentian tradition of Niagara University,” said Tom Lowe, director of ReNU Niagara, Niagara University’s community outreach arm. “It is in that spirit that we present the LiveNF Volunteer Fair as an opportunity for Niagara Falls residents to engage in the great work of a diverse crop of community organizations.”
The first-ever LiveNF Volunteer Fair will take place Tuesday, April 7, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Niagara Falls Culinary Institute at 28 Old Falls St. in Niagara Falls. The event is free and open to the public. Dozens of organizations will be on hand to share what they do and how you can get involved. Potential volunteers can fill out a brief questionnaire and be matched with organizations that fit their interest areas and availability.
