Niagara University continues to comply with the New York state COVID-19 sick leave requirement, as well as the CDC guidelines.

NYS employees are eligible for COVID-19 sick pay for at least five days if they have tested positive for COVID-19 and are unable to work from home during their period of isolation. COVID-19 sick pay is available to all employees, including work study student workers, and is separate from staff PTO and NYS paid sick leave. Employees should contact the Office of Human Resources if they need to utilize COVID-19 sick pay, as an affirmation of isolation must be completed and submitted for each occurrence. Per NYS, employees are eligible for COVID-19 sick pay for up to a maximum of three occurrences.

Per CDC guidelines, individuals who test positive for COVID-19 are to isolate for at least five complete days, with Day 0 as the day symptoms first appeared. For days 6-10, they are to wear a high-quality mask when indoors around others, as well as in close quarters outdoors.
