The Biology Department in conjunction with the Ostapenko Center for Race, Equality and Mission present as part of the Diversity in Science Seminar Series “The languages of life: chemically mediated interactions in plant ecology & evolution”.

Jordan Dowell a PhD student in the Conservation & Integrative Biology Department at the University of Central Florida will be discussing his research on how plants use volatile organic compounds to communicate with one another using sunflowers as a model organism.
Following the seminar (1:30-2:15) we will have pizza with the speaker in Golisano 254. Please email Dr. Glazier by Thursday 11/7 if you would like to eat lunch with the speaker.
