Dr. Christopher Stoj Presents Scientific Research at International Symposium
Dr. Christopher S. Stoj, associate professor of biochemistry at Niagara University, presented a poster titled “Oxygen Uptake and Spectroscopic Analysis of Ferroxidase Activity by Fet3p” at the 11th International Biometals Symposium, which was held July 15-19 at the University of Ottawa, Canada.
Dr. Stoj, who chairs NU’s department of biochemistry, chemistry and physics, conducted research with Honors students Matthew Michienzi, ’18, and Elaine Militello, ’19. Michienzi graduated in May with a degree in biochemistry, while Militello is on track to receive a B.S. in biology next year.
The group’s presentation complemented the work of more than 150 leading researchers in the study of metals in health and disease from across the world.
