Dr. Colley Presents Recommendations On EdTPA To State Board Of Regents

Dr. Debra A. Colley, dean of Niagara University’s College of Education, appeared before the New York State Board of Regents at its March 16-17 meetings to present recommendations from the statewide task force on the edTPA.

The recommendations resulted from the deliberations of the appointed edTPA Task Force, which was created to refine the edTPA assessment (including the rubrics and handbooks), support implementation across the state and collaborate with the State Education Department and the Stanford Center for Assessment, Learning and Equity (SCALE) to identify and disseminate exemplary practices.

Dr. Colley and Scott Bishoping, district superintendent of theWayne Finger Lakes BOCES, were appointed by former Commissioner of Education John King to co-chair this 32-member board. Members included representatives from CUNY, SUNY, the independent sector of universities, the United University Professions, the professional Staff Congress, the Teacher Education Advisory Group and P-12 educators.
