Dr. Luis Sanchez Elected President Of National Chemistry Honor Society
Dr. Sanchez will commence his term as president of the society in 2017, the same year Gamma Sigma Epsilon holds its 47th Biennial Conference at Niagara University.
There are presently more than 70 active Gamma Sigma Epsilon chapters throughout the United States. The society is governed by a national executive council of elected officers and meets in biennial conventions for the purpose of governance, fellowship and scientific exchange.
Dr. Sanchez earned his bachelor’s degree and licentiate in chemistry from the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru, and his doctorate in organic chemistry from Michigan State University. He conducts research in chemical synthesis, teaches organic and medicinal chemistry at Niagara University, and serves as advisor of Niagara’s student chapter of the American Chemical Society.
