Dr. Merkle Awarded St. Elizabeth Seton Medal

Dr. Judith A. Merkle, SNDdeN, professor of religious studies, was presented with the St. Elizabeth Seton Medal at the Mater Dei Chapel on the campus of Mount St. Joseph University on Oct. 29.

The St. Elizabeth Seton Medal is named in honor of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton, foundress of the Sisters of Charity, the congregation that established Mount St. Joseph University in 1920. According to the Mount St. Joseph University website, recipients are selected for their contributions to an area of theology, including scripture, systematics, spirituality, ministry, and historical theology.
