The Hate U Give – Film
Attendees will watch the film, The Hate U Give. The film is based upon the NY Times Best Seller The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas.

Let’s Talk About It
The campus community is invited to come together to discuss the essential themes from the film The Hate U Give. The audience will have the opportunity for an open dialogue to explore solutions to the themes presented in the film.

Creole – Dine with OMA
Attendees will experience Creole culture and cuisine.
The Creole cuisine is a staple in Louisiana that blends French, Spanish, West African, Amerindian, Haitian, German and Italian influences.

This is a free exhibit celebrating African American Artists and history. Artists on display include Jean-Michel Basquiat and Romare Beardens.

The campus community will have the incredible opportunity to experience the contribution of African American inventors, which enhanced the lives of many during their generation and continues to this day.
