Facility Services – LOOP SWITCH REPLACEMENT-WATER SHUTDOWN – FIRE CONNECTION REPAIR

LOOP SWITCH REPLACEMENT

On Monday, October 14, 2019 Facility Services will be replacing the electrical loop switch serving  Dwyer, Library and Golisano Buildings.

This switch is the replacement for the one that failed causing the power outage during winter break 2018/2019

The primary location of this work will be in the area of the primary electrical switch gear which is near University Drive between Vincentian Drive and Heritage Way.

There will be a small crane on site as well are various contractor vehicles.

The work is expected to begin around 7:00AM take 12-15 hours to fully complete and is being undertaken by Ferguson Electric

Impacted buildings will be on generator (Dwyer and Golisano) or closed (Library)

All is expected to be back to normal operations by Tuesday, October 15, 2019.

WATER SHUTDOWN –  FIRE CONNECTION REPAIR

On Monday, October 14, 2019 Facility Services will be undertaking the repair of the fire connection on Vincentian Drive between Marian and Butler Buildings requiring the shutdown of the Marian Hot box.

This work will shut down the water to the following buildings:

  • Alumni
  • Alumni Annex
  • Butler
  • Clet
  • Clet Dining
  • Clet Theater
  • Marian
  • O’Shea
  • Timon
  • Varsity Village 1-6

We expect the water to go down shortly after 7:00AM and be off for approximately 8 hrs. + or -. The work is being undertaken by J. R. Swanson.

We have selected this day as the University is closed and there will be fewer students on campus.
