Facility Services Project Work

We will be beginning our busy summer project schedule. Listed below are the projects that are starting this week. Should you have any questions or concerns about this work please contact Facility Services at ext. 8430

 Niagara Field – Turf Replacement
Beginning Friday, May 11th we will be removing the existing turf on Niagara Field and replacing with new. This project will take until the end of June. Please be aware of additional truck traffic in the Kiernan lot at the south end of the building as the construction vehicles access the field area.

 Clet Hall – Heritage Room Renovation
Beginning Monday, May 14th Facility Services will begin a  project to  remove asbestos in the  ceiling of the Clet Heritage Room. This work is being performed in accordance with New York State Department of Labor Regulations by a licensed contractor. There will be equipment outside the building on the deck near the arch and at the south end of the building. Only this room will be impacted as the building will remain occupied. This is the first part of the renovation work that will be ongoing throughout the summer to improve the use of this space for the Theater Department

 Varsity Village 2 – Boiler Replacement
Beginning Tuesday, May 15th Facility Services will begin the boiler replacement in this building. The first phase will be to remove the asbestos in the basement and crawlspace. Again this work is being performed in accordance with New York State Department of Labor regulations. There will also be equipment and a dumpster outside the building. Once abatement is complete we will proceed with the replacement of the boiler and fin radiation in each room. This project will improve the heating comfort within the building.

 Lynch Hall – Painting
Beginning Tuesday, May 15th  contractor will begin painting the interior of Lynch Hall. This is the first phase of upgrading the building to including new furniture.

 Dunleavy – Fire Pit
We will be replacing the concrete cap on the fire pit on Friday, May 18th (weather permitting) and grinding the cap on Monday the 21st. Fire pit will be out of Service while this work is going  and then for the balance of the week (5/21-6/3/18)
