Faculty Mentorship Program: Last Call for Applications!
A team of Niagara University faculty colleagues has developed a mentorship program in which faculty members of all ranks are paired with teaching mentors to assist them in honing their teaching craft in a friendly, supportive, and low-stakes/high-reward environment. The entire Niagara University teaching community is invited to apply to the mentorship program. This group includes full-time tenured and pre-tenure faculty members, adjunct faculty members, and instructors of all ranks, including NU staff members. To apply as either a mentor or a mentee, please fill out the attached application form and submit via email to mentor@niagara.edu. The deadline for applications is this Friday, September 24.

Faculty Development Tip of the Week: Hide Total Grades in Canvas
If you use Canvas for some of your grading, but not necessarily everything, consider hiding students total grades. Students will still see their grades on individual assignments but will be responsible for calculating their total grade for themselves, following the criteria in your syllabus. To hide students’ total grades, click on Settings. Under the Course Detail tab, scroll to the very bottom of the page and click “more options.” Here, you can check the box to hide students’ total grades. This short video shows how. For your reference, all Tip of the Week videos are archived on the Faculty Development Website here
