Famous Writers at the Falls: A Book Talk by Dr. Jamie Carr
To kick off Vincentian Heritage Week on Saturday, Sept. 23, the Office of Mission Integration and the Castellani Art Museum will host the annual Lynch Lecture, named in honor of our founder, John Joseph Lynch, C.M. We have established the Lynch Lecture series to host scholars who, like Archbishop Lynch, see the Niagara region as a place of high natural, artistic, intellectual, and spiritual significance.
This year, we are delighted to host Niagara University’s own Dr. Jamie Carr, professor of English, for a lecture about her new book, “Niagaras of Ink.” This talk shares anecdotes of famous writers’ experiences―previously untold tales, unique takes on well-known visits, and materials just too good to exclude―with an anthology of some of the most engaging writing on the Falls.
This year’s lecture will also celebrate the CAM’s current exhibition “Northward: Views of the Niagara River.”
The lecture begins at 2 p.m., following a tour of the Castellani exhibit. A reception will feature light refreshments and a cash bar (see schedule below). The event is free, but attendees must preregister: https://www.castellaniartmuseum.org/#smtx-click.
