Feeding Our Future

In Announcements, by , on July 2nd, 2014

Niagara University dining services is looking for volunteers to assist with assembling meals for underprivileged youth in our area, in affiliation with the Sodexo Foundation’s Feeding our Future® initiative.  In partnership with the Food Bank of Western NY and the Community Action Organization of Erie County, The Magdalene Project, and Heart, Love and Soul, Sodexo will be providing food for breakfast and lunch to be supplied for nine weeks, beginning on June 30.  Volunteers are needed to assist Sodexo staff with assembly of meals and to prepare them for pick-up.  An estimated 15,000 meals will be provided to those youth in need who do not have access to subsidized lunches during the summer months while participating in local youth activities such as camps.

General manager, Deirdre Bartholomew, and her team would welcome any volunteers who would be able to assist her and her team in helping to prepare and assemble meals.  We are preparing meals between 2 and 4 p.m. Sunday through Thursday in Clet dining hall every week until Aug. 28.  Please contact Deirdre at 716.286.8397 or via e-mail at dbartholomew@niagara.edu with dates you wish to volunteer.   Families welcome.
