Five NU Students Participating In Major League Baseball Diversity Business Summit

Five Niagara University students are currently attending the sold-out Major League Baseball Diversity Business Summit in New York City.

Accompanied by Dr. Jimmy Smith, assistant professor of sport management, students Jon Hibbard, Chris Kryszynski, Chris Norman, Brian Phillips and Mike Seaman are participating in what Major League Baseball calls “the premier sports employment conference and supplier diversity trade fair.”

The two-day event presents more than 1,000 job seekers and entrepreneurs with unprecedented access to human resource and procurement executives representing professional baseball clubs at both the major and minor league levels, as well as sponsorship partners.

Among the summit’s keynote speakers are MLB commissioner Bud Selig, MLB CFO Jonathan D. Mariner, and Houston Astros owner Jim Crane. Yankees president Randy Levine offered opening remarks.
