Forward Niagara Webinar Series
Mark your calendars to join members of the university’s Forward Niagara task force for a series of webinars which outline plans for the university’s fall restart as it relates to health and safety, infrastructure, academics and student life.
Tuesday, July 28 – 11 a.m. – Forward Niagara Fall Restart Overview
This session provides an overview of the plan for restart and to welcome students to Lewiston and Vaughan. Highlights include partnerships, health and safety, academics, student life and athletics, infrastructure, human resources, and individual responsibility (an educative strategy).
Tuesday, July 28 – 1 p.m. – Infrastructure: “Re imagining” the NU campus
In both Lewiston and Vaughan, campus facilities, operations, cleaning and disinfecting, and safety and dining (to name a few) have been ‘re-imagined’ to provide layers of safety to ensure a safer, more resilient campus. These changes will be discussed, along with technology being implemented as innovations for students, faculty and staff.
Tuesday, July 28 – 3 p.m. – Academics: Excellence in teaching and learning at NU
Planning for the fall 2020 semester includes the commitment to excellence in teaching and learning, academic advisement and support, cutting edge technology and research/internships across liberal arts and professional degree programs. In keeping with all health guidance, the components that build the academic and intellectual needs of students will be discussed.
Wednesday, July 29 – 12 p.m. – Health and Safety: Ensuring safe operations
With the health and well-being of our students, faculty, staff, administration and members of the community at the forefront of all of our planning, layers of safety are in place to test, monitor, isolate (as needed), trace, protect those most at risk, and monitor warning signs. This webinar will review the specific protocols and expectations for health and safety, including strategies for adherence and building this culture on both campuses.
Thursday, July 30 – 1 p.m. – Student Life: The new campus experience
The student experience is dynamic and changing; however, an engaged and career-readying experience at Niagara will always be a hallmark of our plan – in new and innovative ways. This session will explore residence life, campus activities, recreation, campus ministry and spiritual life, and athletics as we navigate the campus experience and student expectations for the fall semester.
The webinar series is another component of the information stream, which includes postings, email bulletins, and informational tools, that highlights key restart points for the campus community. Please continue to review the university’s Forward Niagara restart page, as well as postings on MyNU.
