Freaky Friday Auditions

Niagara University Theatre is seeking a young male actor to play the role of “Fletcher Blake” in the Fall 2019 production of Freaky Friday THE MUSICAL, a new musical based on the celebrated novel by Mary Rodgers and the hit Disney films. The Niagara University production will be the Western New York premiere of this new musical.

When an overworked mother and her teenage daughter mystically swap bodies, they have just one day to put things right again. By spending a day in each other’s shoes, Katherine and Ellie come to appreciate one another’s struggles, learn self-acceptance, and realize the immeasurable love and mutual respect that bond a mother and daughter.

The role:

Fletcher is Katherine’s son and Ellie’s sister. He is ten years-old (actor may be 10-14 years-old), slightly eccentric, naïve, and obsessed with puppets.

Friday, October 25 @ 7:30pm

Saturday, October 26 @ 2:00pm and 7:30pm

Sunday, October 27 @ 2:00pm

Friday, November 1 @ 7:30pm

Saturday, November 2 @ 2:00pm and 7:30pm

Sunday, November 3 @ 2:00pm

Actors are asked to prepare a short song or a part of a song showing their vocal range.  Please bring sheet music, a pianist will be provided.  Actors may also be asked to read from the text and/or sing something from the show at the audition (music will be provided).
