Heritage Week “Celebrating 400 Years of the Vincentian Charism: 1617-2017”
Vincentian Heritage Week is an NU tradition that educates and celebrates all that makes our university community Vincentian. We take as our theme this year the 400th year anniversary of the Vincentian charism by honoring people who continue to work in the spirit of St. Vincent.
During the week, NU students will experience first-hand what it is like to live with the stress of not having enough to go around in our annual Poverty Simulation. Thursday will hold our annual Convocation in Alumni Chapel during which members of our Vincentian and University communities will be formally honored for the impact of their charitable work. During the ceremony, the Reverend Patrick J. Griffin, C.M., the Director of the Vincentian Center for Church and Society at St. John’s University, will give the keynote address. On Friday, we will also recognize the university community for its recent efforts in aiding the victims of Hurricanes Harvey and Irma.
