Part of the Niagara University October Speaker Series.  Thursday, October 4, 2018, at 7 PM in the Castellani Art Museum.  Jason T. Eberl will give a talk entitled “Defining Death and Challenges of Medical Ethics”.

Determination of death has important implications for the practice of medicine; yet this issue is still debated within the medical community.  Dr. Eberl’s presentation will address how a human being’s death is defined and clinically determined.  Various ethical perspectives will be discussed, along with the clinical implications on issues of end-of-life care, withdrawal of life support, the practice of organ transplantation, and the definition of “personhood”.

Free and open to the public.  Refreshments will follow the lecture.
