If running a camp or clinic, all new employees must have background checks.
To protect the university community and the people it serves, all new hires are first checked for criminal convictions. If you run a camp or clinic that must make temporary or seasonal hires, please take into account the need for human resources to run background checks (as we have done in the past) for all staff who will be working with minors and are not already NU employees (yes, this includes students). Background checks run roughly $100 per employee, and due to the need to properly track camp revenues, must be included as part of the operational budget of your camp; you will need to provide a budget number to human resources for this expense prior to the finalization of your hires. Please contact Rita Geiben, assistant director of human resources, with any questions.
