“ISIS, Islam and the U.S.” lecture: TODAY

The Middle Eastern and Islamic studies department will host a guest lecture on “ISIS, Islam and the U.S.” by Dr. Hasan Arslan on Wednesday, Nov. 11, from 12:30-1:30 p.m. in the Gallagher Center’s multi-purpose Room.

Dr. Arslan is an expert  on terrorism at the department of criminal justice and security at Pace University in New York City. The talk will address issues such as the definition and historical examples of terrorism, Islamic perspectives on jihad, and the origins and recruitment of ISIS. Classes are welcome.
