Keynote Speaker: Dr. Alexa Sardina to Discuss Restorative Justice Approaches to Healing

In Announcements, by , on March 21st, 2022

All are welcome to attend this free training/speaking event that will examine the impact of sexual harm, including the physical, emotional, psychological, and relational consequences of trauma. All too often this trauma is compounded when survivors interact with legal, medical, and mental health professionals. Dr. Sardina will share her story of rape and path towards healing, including what is known about survivor needs based on empirical research. Many survivors have found restorative processes to be an impactful way to heal from the trauma following an act of sexual harm. As such, she will also discuss the ways in which restorative processes can be used to meet the needs of survivors that may otherwise not be meant through traditional healing modalities.

The speaking event will take place on Friday, April 1st from 1:00pm to 3:00pm in the Russell Salvator Dining Commons. Please note that the event does require registration (https://forms.gle/SFqg7NddtPkpLjdM9), and therefore, you are encouraged to register early to secure your spot as there is limited seating available.
