A bust of 19th-century Hungarian reform statesman Lajos Kossuth was inaugurated on October 2, 2021, on Monteagle Ridge, commemorating the 100th anniversary of diplomatic ties between the United States and Hungary.

The Kossuth bust is meant to commemorate Kossuth’s visit to Niagara Falls on May 22, 1852, and to honor the Hungarians who emigrated to the United States in the 19th and 20th centuries. The Niagara area is a great international tourist destination, and the statue will have excellent exposure here on campus.

The statue is located in front of Bisgrove, and is under 24-hour surveillance.
