Congratulations to Tom Lowe, director of ReNU Niagara, who will be named Leadership Niagara’s Emerging Leader of the Year during the organization’s annual awards luncheon, which will be held at the Niagara Falls Conference & Events Center on April 29.

Lowe, a 2014 Leadership Niagara graduate, is active in numerous community-building programs through his role with ReNU Niagara, an outreach office established by Niagara University in 2006. He manages the GreenRoots Leadership Development Program, as well as projects in the Highland community. He also assists with the City of Niagara Falls’ LiveNF program, and sits on the boards of Greenprint Niagara, the Main Street Business and Professional Association, the Niagara Falls National Heritage Area, the Niagara Beautification Commission, the City of Niagara Falls Youth Board and the Hyde Park Babe Ruth Baseball Association.

A Youngstown native, Lowe earned a bachelor’s degree from SUNY Fredonia in 2009, before returning to Niagara County to serve as an AmeriCorps VISTA with ReNU Niagara. He became director of the program in June 2013.

“Tom possesses the skill, energy and enthusiasm to effectively motivate and empower Western New York citizens to make a difference in their communities,” noted Mary E. Borgognoni, Niagara University’s associate vice president of operations and outreach. “The entire university community joins me in congratulating Tom on his well-deserved recognition as an emerging leader.”
