Mental Health Awareness Week

In Announcements, by , on November 13th, 2020

Niagara University will be sponsoring Mental Health Awareness Week from November 16-20, 2020 to promote the importance of recognizing the significant mental health needs on college campuses. Thanks to a grant from the Mother Cabrini Health Foundation, and working in partnership with BestSelf Behavioral Health Inc. and the National Council for Mental Health First Aid, a series of trainings and events will be offered to members of our campus community and community partners.

NU President Father James J. Maher C.M. is encouraging all faculty, staff and students to engage in the week long trainings and events.

“Recent studies assessing the well-being of college students have highlighted the increasing need for mental health services at universities across the country, including Niagara University. As a result, our campus leaders have been working diligently to better understand unmet student mental health needs, and how better to address them. With these circumstances in mind, I am pleased to share that at Niagara, we are formally initiating a proactive approach to campus-wide mental health that is comprehensive and evidence-based, aimed at engaging the entire university community,”
