Beginning Jan. 1, 2014, the standard mileage allowance rate for computing the costs of operating a car for business purposes will be 56 cents per mile. The new 2014 rate for medical or moving expense purposes is 23.5 cents per mile. The new rates apply to costs paid or incurred effective immediately.
