National Women’s History Month Events at Niagara University – Save the Date
The women’s studies committee at Niagara University is hosting events in honor of National Women’s History Month in March. The first two events will focus on local women’s history. First, Interim Deputy Director and Curator at the Theodore Roosevelt Inaugural Site, Lenora Henson, will present the “Wilcox Women and their World” on March 21, from 5:00-6:30 p.m. in Bisgrove Hall, Room 350. The Wilcoxes joined the Rumsey, Carey, and Love families in progressive reform in Buffalo in the late 1800s and early 1900s. Next, Melissa Dunlap, Executive Director of the Niagara County Historical Society, will speak on March 26, from 6:00-7:30 p.m. in Bisgrove Hall, Room 350, on the seven Sutherland sisters of Cambria, New York. The Sutherlands became famous for their long, luxurious hair and hair care products in the 1800s. Finally, the Niagara University Theatre will present Pygmalion, a contemporary look at the 1912 play written by George Bernard Shaw, starting on March 28th at 7:00 p.
