New Sustainability Initiatives

In Other, by , on September 9th, 2022

As Niagara University continues our efforts towards sustainability we will be implementing actions to benefit the campus by improving our environment and minimizing our waste stream.

The programs that will be initiated will include:

  • Centralized trash and recycling collection in common areas of academic and administrative buildings. Common areas consist of corridors, break areas, copier rooms, bathrooms, and conference rooms.
    • Common area cleaning will be done daily.
    • To reduce the amount of plastic garbage bags we use there will no longer be garbage cans in classrooms.  Garbage from classrooms can be taken to a nearby common area.
  • Office trash removal and standard office cleaning will be reduced to one (1) time per week on Fridays.

Niagara University has updated our partnership with Modern Disposal to better service these sustainability initiatives. Students, faculty & staff serve as a catalyst for the sustainable development for the next generation. Representatives from Facility Services and UG2 will be available and circulating around campus to help educate the community on these new initiatives.  If you have any questions please call Facility Services at 8430.
