Niagara Law Center Spreads Holiday Cheer With United Way Toy Drive
A holiday toy drive coordinated by Niagara University’s Continuing Legal Education program proved so successful that Carol Howaart-Diez, CEO of the United Way of Greater Niagara, had to enlist the help of Lewiston attorney Karl Frankovitch to transport a second vehicle of toys to the organization’s warehouse.
The initiative was part of the Niagara Law Center’s final fall 2015 CLE session, a Dec. 10 holiday party and aptly named seminar on “The Law of Gifts: Legal, Life and Tax Consequences.” Rather than collect registration fees, the Niagara Law Center required attendees to bring $50 worth of new, unwrapped toys, which will now be distributed by the United Way of Greater Niagara to needy children across the county.
The Niagara Law Center is a collaborative venture between NU CLE and the Bar Association of Niagara County.
