In Announcements, by , on November 4th, 2014

Niagara University’s campus will fall silent at 2 p.m. this Veterans Day (Nov. 11) in honor of the American servicemen and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in the name of freedom.

The moment of silence will be preceded at NU by a series of happenings held in conjunction with the Remembrance Day National Roll Call, a national event that calls for a synchronized reading of the names of fallen American soldiers.

At noon, the university’s Student Veterans Organization will present a $5,000 check to the Rev. James J. Maher, C.M., NU president, in support of the Sergeant Major Fred E. Kirtchen Memorial Scholarship Fund. The scholarship assists returning military veterans who are attending Niagara University.
